"Romena Tour in Testour" is a thematic route dedicated to the pomegranate, the emblematic product of the region. This initiative aims to promote Testour’s signature fruit as a symbol of local identity, attracting more visitors year-round. The goal of this route is to showcase the products and services associated with pomegranates through immersive experiences offered by its nine members, operating across various sectors including agriculture, agri-food, gastronomy, tourism, crafts, and leisure. "Romena Tour in Testour" is the result of a collaborative public-private effort between the Association of the Pomegranate Festival (AFG) مهرجان الرّﻣّﺎﻥ بتستور and regional institutions under the Ministries of Agriculture, Tourism, and Cultural Affairs. This innovative approach to territorial marketing seeks to enhance the region’s heritage and terroir by highlighting the pomegranate in all its dimensions. The initiative is supported by the Market Access Project for Agri-food and Local Products (PAMPAT Tunisia), implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO Tunisia) and funded by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) through the Embassy of Switzerland in Tunisia.
As female farmers, we focus on local agricultural production and sell our products at exhibitions, training sessions, and local and national events. Since culinary heritage is a key component of ecological tourism, we always strive to highlight it. We are currently preparing rural local tourism routes where our local products will play a central role. We also have an upcoming project with the Gene Bank and another project to develop a website for our collective, which includes two tourism routes in the regions of Mchareqa and Ftanassa, in collaboration with the European Bank for Development.
